We had a 40 year old water oak with two trunks that had been showing signs of disease. We called 2 different companies asking for an assessment of the tree's health, not just wanting to chop it down or trim it up. Monster Tree was thorough in their explanation of the issues with the tree, explained why it was happening and gave us a recommendation based on saving the tree and keeping it healthy. One trunk was healthy, the other couldn't be saved and its damage was mostly due to bad tree trimming years ago (before we moved here). There is a right way and wrong way to trim a tree.
When they arrived up, I was impressed with the professionalism shown from start to finish. Using the right equipment for the job and working 2 trees at once, they were efficient but thorough. They undid my chainlink fence to allow for the lift and removed limbs (and put it back of course). Clean up was as if they were never here. Even little things I noticed such as starting and stopping the chipping machine. Most tree companies create a pile, then make a lot of noise for a long time with the chipper. I was working from home and kept forgetting they were here all day. It was not a constant drone of machinery. I'm sure it is more effort to start and stop the sawing and chipping but it sure sounds better. At completion, they asked me to walk around with them to review what had been done and if it was to my satisfaction. All in all, these guys are the best in the business. I highly recommend if you care about the health of your trees and yard, not just someone who cuts and runs.

Feeling safer and excited. Tom came out for our free estimate and pointed out a two very unsafe trees which could have fallen on our home right over my children’s room. In addition to these trees we had a hillside cleared for more visibility and sun exposure for gardening (very wooded property). The crew was organized and efficient. They were able to, not only safely drop the problematic trees, but cleared an entire hillside in one full day’s work. Heavy equipment was maneuvered around tight, steep, areas with care. They even moved our large trampoline and put it back to accommodate the unique job needs. Will definitely use Monster Tree Service next time we need professional help with our trees.

He wasn't there to "make a dollar" but truly do what was best for the trees and our needs. Their equipment is top notch- trucks, lifts, chainsaws, etc. The team was polite and professional. Added perk- they cleaned up afterwards. They blew off the driveway, raked the yard, and made sure everything was put back in place. I highly recommend Tom and his team. In addition, he was far more professional and knowledgeable than any of the other firms. He was more concerned about the long term health of the trees than anyone else. They came out with lots of top of the line equipment and knocked the job out quickly. When we had a question about how they trimmed one tree he was back out in person within 2 days to answer our questions. By far the best tree company we have used here in Greenville. I used to run a lawn and tree business and Tom taught me a lot about the updated techniques. We will use them again in the future.

Tom came out, listened to our requests, and presented us with some much needed recommendations such as fertilizing our remaining trees to keep them healthy. The estimate was fair and only required a small down payment to secure our work request. Although the work will not take place until late December, we are very pleased with the results thus far.

I learned about Monster from Clemson Forestry service as I needed a reliable service to remove many pine trees and one that understood tree diseases and one that could examine the trees to validate the problem.
